imedos DVA line provides the full range of tools for Dynamic and Static Vessel Analysis for use in clinical and practice routine.

Vessel analysis was developed by imedos in cooperation with universities and is based on proprietary technologies. Over the last 5 years these technologies have been applied in imedos RVA Research Retinal Vessel Analyzer and have been used in many clinical trials around the world. Dynamic Vessel Analysis is the key technology for the early detection od functional vessel changes. And has a tremendous potential for further applications in the future.

The key function of the RVA flicker module has now been integrated in an instrument for clinical routine, the DVA Dynamic Vessel Analyzer.
How DVA Works    
  The patient is positioned in front of the mydriatic fundus camera and the diameter of selected vessel segments will be measured automatically. During the measurement flicker light provocation of the retina is performed. The flicker light induced diameter changes are recorded over time for all locations along the segments.

An easy to read graph is generated (FLIP Graph) which describes the capability od the vessel to dilate.

This function is highly standardized and thus applicable in clinical routine. Latest clinical results show reduced flicker response in patients with untreated hypertension thus demonstrating correlations between the retinal vessels and vessels in other parts of the body.

With this approach DVA became a clinically applicable method for the early detection of changes in auto regulative vessel behaviour.

imedos VesselMap basic enables you to determine a/v ratios in line with the ARIC study. The a/v ratio is a quantitative parameter to determine vascular risk. In combination with an individual's medical history and an evaluation of microvascular fundus results a valuable diagnosis can be offered. Especially in an interdisciplinary apporach with internists and neurologists, optimized treatments for risk patients can be recommended and patients can be convinced of changing their life style to reduce their vascular risks.
